Position Summary
The role of the Lead Baker is pivotal in upholding the quality standards set forth by the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef. This position focuses on the meticulous preparation and presentation of baked goods, ensuring adherence to product specifications and maintaining a clean workspace.
Key Responsibilities
The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Sous Chef in maintaining quality and portion control of all baked products.
- Crafting fresh artisan breads, rolls, and a variety of premium menu items for diverse outlets.
- Preparing items for display, which includes slicing, packaging, and labeling bakery products.
- Ensuring a consistent supply of products for guests by maintaining visually appealing displays throughout the day.
- Rotating inventory to guarantee freshness and documenting waste on a daily basis.
- Adhering to production schedules and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely preparation of items.
- Monitoring the baking process and making necessary adjustments to meet production needs.
- Handling ingredients, equipment, and tools efficiently.
- Overseeing mixing and baking processes to ensure quality outcomes.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- A High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Culinary education is advantageous.
- A minimum of three to four years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
