About This Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our team at Handshake. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, managing and maintaining our network and cybersecurity systems, and providing top-notch technical support to our users.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Administration and Maintenance
    • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
    • Ensure high levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
    • Monitor and verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Network and Security Management
    • Manage and configure network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
    • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
    • Implement and maintain security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
    • Maintain documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience administering and managing MDM solutions for both Windows and macOS environments.
  • Proficient in using Identity and Access Management (IAM) tools like Okta.
  • Proven ability to automate complex and repetitive tasks using infrastructure as code and Okta Workflows, Bettercloud, and other platforms.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to non-technical colleagues.
