About the Job:

BayMark Health Services is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented pharmacist to provide pharmacy services to patients, nurses, physicians, and other medical staff. The ideal candidate will integrate core pharmacy knowledge with dispensing and order review activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe handling of medications in the facility to protect patient safety and welfare
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for medication handling and distribution, including receipt, storage, recordkeeping, and accountability of prescription medications
  • Ensure the maximum level of safety and efficacy in the provision of pharmaceutical services
  • Document all visits and activities, including irregularities
  • Provide training to facility staff on medication administration, adverse reactions, and special diets
  • Maintain patient profiles and dispense take-home medication to eligible patients
  • Conduct biennial inventory and participate in regulatory agency surveys or audits
  • Conduct all business activities in a professional and ethical manner

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age requirement of 18
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Currently licensed as a Pharmacist in the state where assigned
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Understanding of HIPAA, Federal, State, and CARF standards and regulations
  • Knowledge of medications that interfere with the effectiveness of methadone
  • Ability to recognize overdose of methadone and take appropriate action
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent documentation and computer skills
  • Knowledge of local community drug trends and addiction treatment
  • Ability to work effectively within a medical hierarchy and work autonomously
  • Ability to work with a diverse population and exhibit excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Code of Pharmacy Regulations in the state where assigned
  • Ability to supervise personnel
