Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Equipment Supply Technician to join our team at the City of Reno, NV. This role is responsible for procuring, receiving, issuing, and maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment, supplies, and materials for assigned departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Inventory Management: Procure, receive, issue, and maintain an accurate inventory of equipment, supplies, and materials for assigned departments.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Research, locate, and order equipment and supplies; maintain a computer-based inventory system.
  • Inventory Control: Conduct periodic inventory of equipment, supplies, and materials; assist technical staff in determining accurate equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare various reports relating to equipment issued, receipts, purchase orders, and billing information; review expenses for patterns and trends.
  • Operational Support: Assist department in determining economical sources of equipment, supplies, and materials; meet with staff to discuss purchasing needs and issues for assigned projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in warehousing and inventory control and purchasing experience.
  • Skills: Principles and practices of warehousing and inventory control; inventory procedures; operational characteristics of warehousing equipment and tools; office procedures, methods, and equipment.
Working Conditions

This role involves working in an indoor and outdoor environment; travel from site to site; work at heights on scaffolding and ladders; works near moving mechanical parts. Incumbents may be required to respond to emergency calls after hours including evenings and weekends.
