Diagnostic Imaging Department Head

The Diagnostic Imaging Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the imaging department at Osceola Medical Center. This role involves managing staff, optimizing workflows, and collaborating with medical professionals to provide exceptional imaging services.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and lead the imaging staff, including radiologists, technologists, and support personnel.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high morale.
Operational Oversight
Manage daily operations of the imaging department, ensuring efficient workflow and patient scheduling.
Monitor and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.
Implement policies and procedures to enhance service delivery and patient experience.
Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including those from state, federal, and accrediting bodies.
Develop and oversee quality control measures and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Analyze imaging reports and data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
Financial Management
Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Collaborate with administration on financial planning and resource allocation.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication regarding imaging results.
Act as a liaison between the imaging department and other hospital departments, promoting collaborative efforts.
Stay current with advancements in imaging technology and best practices.
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited radiology program from an accredited college or university, required.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a technologist, with two (2) years of supervisory experience, preferred.
Certification and registration in Radiology (e.g., ARRT, RT(R ), CNMT), required.
Demonstrates OMC's behavioral standards and values in daily work.
Strong knowledge of imaging modalities, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and history of building strong working relationships.
Experience leading and partnering with teams to make improvements, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
