Position Overview: This announcement is intended to fill several immediate vacancies for the Compliance Investigator role within the Office of Inspector General (OIG) across various counties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations into instances of fraud, waste, or abuse involving recipients, non-Medicaid providers, and vendors associated with public assistance programs administered by the Department.
- Investigate cases related to food and cash assistance, Medicaid, and childcare programs.
- Compile and present findings that may lead to prosecution or administrative review, resulting in outcomes such as criminal charges, restitution, or program disqualification.
- Provide recommendations for program enhancements based on investigative results.

Experience Requirements:
- Regulation Agent 9: No specific experience required.
- Regulation Agent 10: One year of relevant professional experience.
- Regulation Agent P11: Two years of relevant professional experience, including one year at the Regulation Agent 10 level.
Alternative Qualifications:
- Experience as a sworn detective at a law enforcement agency may substitute for educational and experience requirements.
Work Environment: The position allows for a hybrid work model, combining remote and office work, with the expectation that all work is conducted within Michigan.
Conditions of Employment: Successful candidates must complete a background investigation and a criminal records check as part of the hiring process.
