Nurse Practitioner in Transplant Medicine

We are seeking an experienced RN to join our transplant team at UofL Health - Jewish Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing organ transplantation.
Key Responsibilities- Assessing and Monitoring Patients:
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for transplant patients, including assessing and monitoring their medical needs, educating them about the transplant process, and coordinating with the transplant team to prepare them for surgery.
- Monitor transplant patients for signs of complications, such as infection, rejection, or organ dysfunction, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Provide comprehensive care to transplant recipients following surgery, including monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and assessing for complications.
- Administer immunosuppressive medications to prevent organ rejection, monitor for side effects, and educate patients on the importance of medication adherence.
- Work closely with the transplant surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, and other specialists to develop and adjust treatment plans for transplant recipients.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to provide input on patient care and treatment plans.
The estimated salary for this position is around $94,000 per year.
