As an Aerial Cable Foreman at White Mountain Cable Construction, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment. Your expertise will be essential in guiding and coordinating the activities of an aerial line construction crew, while also documenting the work performed by assigned crew members.
Key Responsibilities- Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
- Safely use hand tools and equipment, such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
- Safely operate mechanized equipment, such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more
- Ensure plant construction meets industry standards, is technically reliable, and performed in a timely and cost-efficient manner
- Assist in the training of inexperienced employees to become linemen
- Safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
- Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have authorization to work in the United States for this company
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Have previous experience as a cable/telecommunications lineman
- Be able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction, such as pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction
- Prior experience working in a bucket truck and climbing poles
- Ability to climb utility poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet
This role routinely requires extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds. Additionally, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
