Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading projects and designing advanced structural systems for high-tech or industrial facilities, focusing primarily on steel and strut configurations. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will not only demonstrate technical expertise but also mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and lead a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the design and analysis of structures, including steel frames, reinforced concrete systems, struts, foundations, and platforms utilized in high-tech or industrial environments. Innovate solutions to enhance structural integrity and performance.
  • Conduct comprehensive load analyses to assess the forces acting on structures, including dead loads, live loads, and seismic loads, while considering occupancy, equipment, and environmental factors.
  • Manage and optimize the design of steel structures, emphasizing efficiency, durability, and safety.
  • Evaluate the stability and safety of existing systems using structural engineering principles, ensuring structures can withstand applied loads without failure.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations while producing thorough technical documentation, reports, and drawings.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit software proficiently for modeling, drafting, and detailing structural designs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate designs into larger facility plans.
  • Apply established design techniques and exercise judgment in adapting design concepts as necessary, maintaining quality control by adhering to company and team standards.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on specific objectives and complex features, assisting in resolving unique challenges.
  • Coordinate with various engineering disciplines to enhance collaboration and optimize workflows through participation in multi-discipline technical strategy sessions.
  • Support management in articulating technical discipline capabilities in alignment with strategic and business objectives.
  • Conduct field verifications and site assessments to identify and resolve design issues during construction.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced staff, fostering their technical and professional development.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to colleagues and clients as needed.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and standards.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is required; Structural Engineer (SE) licensure is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design codes and standards, including ASCE, AISC, and ACI.
  • Demonstrated understanding of building codes, including seismic provisions.
  • Experience with engineering software such as RISA and STAAD.
  • Familiarity with Revit is preferred.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and developing staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
