Job Summary

VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Veterinary Technician to take on a leadership role as a Technician Supervisor. This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage the workflow on the hospital floor
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment and strong hospital culture
  • Assist with the interview process for potential new hires
  • Manage technician scheduling and staffing
  • Assist in the educational development of technicians and their skills
  • Assist in basic protocol and standard procedure training
  • Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
  • Ensure that VCA policies, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff
  • Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
  • Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner
Requirements
  • Current veterinary technician license in the state of Oregon or eligibility to transfer/obtain a license in Oregon
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Veterinary Medicine
  • Skills in veterinary emergency and critical care nursing, organization and planning, verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, veterinary leadership, management, and supervision, and problem-solving
