Electrical Project Executive Job Description

The ideal candidate for this Electrical Project Executive role has extensive experience in electrical contracting, with a proven track record of leading high-performing project management teams. This position requires excellent leadership and mentoring skills, as well as solid financial acumen in project management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead a high-performing project management team.
  • Train and mentor project managers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Create and implement best-in-class project management processes and procedures.
  • Provide high-level financial and operational oversight of all active projects.
  • Work closely with the estimating team to ensure accurate project budgets and timelines.
  • Attend internal project handoff meetings to ensure seamless project transitions.
  • Resolve escalated customer relations issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Lead internal project budget meetings and review project budgets for accuracy.
  • Review and analyze monthly WIP reporting to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist with financial forecasting to ensure accurate project budgets and timelines.
  • Build strong project management teams for each project, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Interact with customers to validate that expectations are understood and met before, during, and after project completion.
  • Maintain workforce capacity plans to ensure adequate resources are allocated to each project.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are being executed appropriately, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Proactively communicate challenges, risks, and successes to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and distribute weekly workforce capacity planning reports to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Distribute and manage the operations team's workload to ensure efficient project delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of project management experience in electrical contracting, ideally in municipal/commercial work.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Journeyman License (Preferred).
  • Master License (Preferred).
Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Extensive experience overseeing and coordinating with field construction teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee a profitable portfolio of projects.
  • Extensive experience using Procore for project management.
  • Extensive experience in project costing/coding.
  • Electrical estimating experience is a strong plus, ideally with Accubid Anywhere.

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Occasional travel to jobsites/meetings 20-40%.
  • Occasionally extended hours and overtime may be required to meet workload demands.
