Job Description

Job Title: Elementary Education Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Elementary Education Specialist to join our team at Needham Public School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and support to students in a Kindergarten classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Lesson Plans: Create and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that promotes student growth and development.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in elementary education and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Certification/License: Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as an elementary teacher at the 1-6 level.
  • Experience: Some classroom teaching experience is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or a related field. Master's degree in a related area is preferred.
