About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Potomac Healthcare Solutions. As a key member of our healthcare services company, you will play a vital role in providing world-class health services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a full range of pharmacist tasks, including drug therapy reviews, verification, medication management, and compounding as required.
  • Review, interpret, and accurately dispense prescribed medications, taking into account age-specific dosages, allergies, therapeutic duplications or overlaps, medication interactions, and other pertinent data.
  • Follow up with medical providers' offices to clarify prescribed medications, dosages, directions for use, refills, interactions, and allergies, and suggest alternative medications as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.
  • Counsel patients and answer their questions regarding medication usage, side effects, interactions, contraindications, patient information privacy, and generic substitutions.
  • Work with information systems and automated and technical equipment, such as CHCS, PharmASSIST, automated dispensing machines, Internet, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Electronic Clinical References (Micromedex/Lexi-Comp).
  • Maintain inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and ensure pharmacy security.
  • Maintain appropriate records and security of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a pharmacist after graduation, including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software, and technology systems.
  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
  • Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
