About the Role

The Surgical Technologist II is a vital member of the healthcare team, providing technical support in the perioperative period under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This role requires a high level of skill and attention to detail, ensuring the highest standard of care for patients.

Responsibilities
  • Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures
  • Prepares sterile tables with instruments, supplies, and medications/solutions
  • Performs appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed
  • Assists in draping the sterile field
  • Passes instruments to the surgeon during procedures
  • Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures
  • Prepares sterile dressings
Requirements
  • High School education or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Course
  • Minimum three years' experience as a CST
  • Able to precept and act as a resource person during procedures
  • Specialist in at least 2 major surgical specialties
