Job Summary:

The Senior Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Specialist is a key member of our neurosurgical team, responsible for performing and monitoring various modalities of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring during neurosurgical, vascular, pediatric, ENT, orthopedic spine, and interventional radiology procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and monitor intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring modalities, including motor cranial nerve recording, spontaneous or evoked electromyography (EMG), spinal screw and direct nerve stimulation, intraoperative somatosensory evoked potential (SSEP), intraoperative electroencephalography (EEG), intraoperative brainstem auditory evoked potential (BAER), and intraoperative transcranial electrical motor evoked potentials (TCeMEP).
  • Collaborate with neurosurgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and effective monitoring during procedures.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in operating room procedures and protocols related to sterile technique and infection control.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and technologies in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in anatomy/physiology, biological sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 6-12 months of experience in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring.
  • Certification in Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
