**About the Role:**
The On-board Culinary Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with the preparation and presentation of exquisite meals. This position requires a passion for culinary excellence and a dedication to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes for each service, ensuring exceptional quality.
- Uphold safety, health, and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen and food storage areas.
- Manage incoming goods and ensure they are stored under optimal conditions.
- Monitor portion sizes and minimize waste effectively.
- Adhere to HACCP standards and comply with food safety regulations.
- Assist with any additional tasks assigned by the Train Manager.
- Support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in all culinary operations.
**Qualifications:**
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A genuine enthusiasm for culinary arts and a professional demeanor.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong command of the English language; additional languages are a plus.
- Previous experience in a luxury hospitality setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with guests and meet their culinary preferences.
- Completion of HACCP/HSSE training is preferred.
**Additional Information:**
This is a seasonal role aboard a luxury overnight train, with comprehensive training provided. The position requires travel throughout various regions, ensuring a unique and enriching experience for both team members and guests.
