Production Line Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Line Attendant to join our team at Saputo Cheese USA Inc. and Saputo Dairy Foods USA, LLC. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for preparing packaging in accordance with customer specifications, company policy, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Key Responsibilities- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures, including GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, and H&S.
- Efficiently package cheese into desired packaging material, identifying and communicating any out-of-spec product conditions and following established notification protocols.
- Assist in the set-up of the packaging process, including machinery, date code printers, computers, product labels, proper vat selection, added ingredients, etc.
- Quality checks to ensure product is packaged according to customer specifications on production sheets (price/date/label/packaging).
- Ability to read and comprehend production worksheets.
- Keep work area neat, clean, and organized at all times.
- Make productive use of downtime.
- Attend various mandatory safety and departmental meetings.
- Able to rotate into all positions on the line.
- Box and palletize boxes according to instructions, ensuring accurate counts and proper identification.
- Sanitize lines when needed.
- Enter data on production reports.
- All Saputo employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to stated safety policies and procedures.
- All Saputo employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies, and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Can consistently push, pull, and lift between 20 and 40 pounds.
- Can work with frequent bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, and maneuvering around manufacturing equipment.
- Can continuously stand or walk on a concrete surface.
- Can work scheduled hours and required overtime as needed.
- Display traits of reliability, honesty, respect, attention to detail, and punctuality.
- Have basic analytical and numerical skills and the ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement.
- Can communicate effectively and efficiently.
- Have a working knowledge of Safety Methods and Procedures.
- Are self-motivated, able to multi-task, can work independently, and as part of a team.
- Are committed to food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate professionalism and positively represent and promote Saputo at all times.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which includes but is not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
- Physical lifting up to 40-lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.
- Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.
