Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a key member of our interventional radiology department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of a Radiologist, perform procedures of an invasive nature to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician.
  • Utilize independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, obtain additional information about their medical history as necessary, and explain examination procedures to patients.
  • Prepare procedure rooms, replenish stock, and prepare prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions for administration to patients.
  • Review clinical data on requisitions, analyze anatomical structures of patients, set up equipment, and assist Radiologists in performing complex diagnostic invasive procedures.
  • Prepare and set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for procedures.
  • Assess patient conditions before, during, and following all procedures, and manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information.
  • May assist with the training of new personnel and/or students assigned to the division.
  • Perform all imaging procedures by demonstrating the principles of radiation protection, including shielding patients, selecting appropriate equipment settings to reduce dose, and using other ALARA techniques.
  • Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS, and complete study indexing in the Radiology Information System.
  • Review and confirm clinical protocols with Radiologists before performing studies.
  • Demonstrate Team Member Standards of Excellence, including AIDET, open communication, responding in a timely manner, displaying a positive attitude, fostering innovation, respecting diversity, etc.
  • Perform Quality Assurance procedures as appropriate, and document all necessary information in the medical record and Radiology Information System.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with the advanced registry in Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV), or registry eligible.
  • Maintain required hours of continued medical education, and Healthcare Provider certification (BCLS).
