Job Title: Airport Operations Director

Join Rhode Island Airport Corporation as an Airport Operations Director and take on a challenging role that requires strategic thinking, leadership, and operational expertise. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our five general aviation airports, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations, and driving business growth through effective management of airport operations, terminal and airfield management, security, maintenance, and emergency response preparedness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve airport efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise and manage a team of airport operations staff, including airfield maintenance technicians and other support personnel.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including tenants, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and local authorities, to ensure compliance with regulations and resolve operational issues.
  • Manage airport budgets, including financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for emergency situations, such as weather disruptions, security incidents, or natural disasters.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the airport remains competitive and compliant.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in airport operations, with a focus on general aviation airports.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising a team.
  • Strong knowledge of airport operations, including airfield management, security, maintenance, and emergency response preparedness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, including tenants, the FAA, and local authorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
