Orrick is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to oversee our domestic and international payroll operations. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills, as well as a deep understanding of payroll processes and cloud-based payroll platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Optimize the payroll platform to meet the organization's specific payroll needs.
  • Process payroll transactions, including deductions, overtime, and bonuses.
  • Monitor and resolve payroll discrepancies through regular audits and effective controls.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and labor regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the HRIS department to ensure proper integration between HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Generate and review various payroll reports, reconciliations, and payments.
  • Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
  • Provide training and support to team members on the use of the UKG platform and related payroll software.
  • Assist with year-end reporting and preparation of annual tax forms.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technology advancements in the payroll field.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and payroll taxes; international payroll experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel/MS Word and Windows.
