Company Overview:
Aviation Technology Associates LLC is seeking a skilled Machinist II to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our operations through the creation and maintenance of high-quality tooling.
Position Overview:
Under general supervision, the Machinist II will be responsible for the layout and construction of tools based on engineering specifications and design documents. This position requires precision and attention to detail in order to ensure the successful fabrication of tooling.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Duties:
1. Set up and operate various machine shop equipment to manufacture and assemble quality tooling according to engineering drawings and specifications.
2. Perform necessary calculations for material requirements and machining parameters.
3. Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify the accuracy of work against specifications.
4. Assist in the validation of new and modified tooling designs.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
2. Operate material handling equipment as required.
3. Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
2. A minimum of three years of experience in a machine shop environment or relevant vocational training.
3. A valid driver's license is required.
Essential Skills:
1. Proficient in shop mathematics and able to apply it effectively.
2. Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.
Unique Skills:
This role will involve the repair of existing tooling, performing preventive maintenance, and conducting cleaning tasks as needed. Most duties will be performed without the use of a dedicated tool shop.
Shift:
This position operates on the first shift. The estimated compensation for this role is competitive.
