Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is seeking a Machinist II.Position Overview:
Under general supervision, the Machinist II will layout and fabricate tools based on engineering designs, technical drawings, and/or sketches. This role involves calculating the necessary materials for tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Duties:
- Set up and operate machinery to manufacture and assemble high-quality tooling from engineering designs and sketches.
- Calculate material requirements and determine appropriate speeds and feeds for machining operations.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify work against specifications.
- Assist in the validation of new and refurbished tooling.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Operate carts and forklifts as needed.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a machine shop or relevant training from a vocational technical institution.
- A valid Driver's License is necessary.
- Strong understanding of shop mathematics.
- Ability to interpret and work from blueprints.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Experience in repairing existing tooling, performing preventive maintenance, and cleaning tools, with most tasks being conducted without a dedicated tool shop.
Compensation: The estimated pay rate for this position is $28.75 per hour.
