Role Responsibilities:
The Associate Laboratory Microbiologist II will play a vital role in laboratory testing and public health response efforts. Key responsibilities include:
  • Supervising, hiring, training, and evaluating laboratory personnel.
  • Managing daily laboratory operations and coordinating responses during public health emergencies.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Overseeing laboratory inventory management and resource allocation.
  • Participating in cross-training initiatives to enhance operational readiness.
  • Conducting high and moderate complexity laboratory tests on clinical and environmental samples.
  • Maintaining quality control and assurance programs to uphold laboratory standards.

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree in medical technology or a related scientific field, along with relevant laboratory experience. Additional qualifications include:
  • Experience in clinical or environmental diagnostic testing laboratories.
  • Eligibility for a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License.
  • Supervisory experience in laboratory settings.
