Mental Health Counselor

The University of Wyoming is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Counselor to provide clinical counseling services to university students, consultations with university staff, faculty, students, and families, and coordinate outreach programming to the University campus community.
This position requires providing professional, brief/short-term/time-effective mental health services, including group counseling, workshops, individual counseling/therapy, brief assessments, referrals as needed, and crisis services during office hours and after-hours.
The successful candidate will participate in instructing, training, supervising, and evaluating graduate assistants and practicum students in culturally informed methods and procedures of counseling and assessment and educational interventions for alcohol and other drugs.
The Mental Health Counselor will provide workshops, referrals, and crisis services during office hours and after-hours as needed, which requires flexibility and readiness to provide outreach activities during non-office hours.
The position also involves completing necessary and required clinical and administrative paperwork promptly and consistently with professional standards and office expectations.
The Mental Health Counselor will provide consultation to parents, faculty, and staff about mental health topics; provide presentations to various groups on campus on various mental health topics.
The successful candidate will attend administrative, training, and clinical meetings, and collaborate with relevant campus and community partners.
The position requires a Master's degree, 2 years of work-related experience, and licensure as a counselor or social worker (LPC, LCSW) or temporary licensure pending the completion of the licensure process.
The ideal candidate will have college counseling experience, knowledge of and experience providing group counseling, workshops, short-term/brief/time-effective therapy, and crisis intervention services.
The successful candidate will demonstrate effectiveness in building rapport with various people from various backgrounds, work well interpersonally with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds, personal stress awareness and management, and clinical supervision.
The position requires excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
