Job Overview

Position Summary:

As a vital member of the patient care team within our clinic, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will deliver essential services that align with the scope of practice. The LVN is tasked with providing direct patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate patient movement to examination rooms while accurately measuring and recording vital signs.
  • Gather and document relevant patient information in medical records.
  • Anticipate and assist in executing procedures as directed.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow and room readiness.
  • Uphold patient safety and confidentiality standards.
  • Support patient education initiatives and engage in teaching activities.
  • Maintain and stock examination rooms, nursing stations, and personal workspaces.
  • Participate in unit responsibilities, including instrument cleaning and supply ordering.
  • Keep accurate logs for surgical procedures, lab tests, and patient follow-ups.
  • Monitor and maintain all patient care equipment, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Contribute to nursing quality improvement efforts by identifying issues, proposing solutions, and assessing outcomes.
  • Ensure proper handling and documentation of medications prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Familiarize with the referral process and guarantee timely follow-up on all referrals.
  • Adhere to universal precautions in all patient interactions.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including:
    • Welcoming visitors and patients
    • Answering phone inquiries
    • Scheduling patient appointments
    • Confirming upcoming appointments with patients
    • Conducting follow-up calls as instructed
    • Verifying insurance eligibility for new patients
    • Collecting payments and co-pays
    • Reconciling end-of-shift financial transactions
    • Reviewing fee tickets for accuracy and completeness
    • Preparing documentation for billing
    • Managing patient charts and forms
    • Addressing patient inquiries and concerns
    • Processing incoming office mail
    • Ordering office supplies as needed
  • Engage in procedures requiring the expertise of a Registered Nurse.
  • Assist in developing programs for infusion, wound care, and patient education.
  • Provide oversight in collaboration with the Back Office Supervisor and Office Manager regarding medical office staff.
  • Support in-office procedures and surgeries.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation for this role is anticipated to be between $32 - $33 per hour, with variations based on individual qualifications, including market location, relevant experience, and skills.

The total compensation package may also encompass other elements such as sign-on bonuses and discretionary awards, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and additional benefits, including eligibility for 401(k) and various paid time off options.
