Position Overview:

The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the operating room, collaborating closely with registered nurses to deliver technical support during surgical procedures for patients across various age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
  • Provide support during surgical interventions by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the surgical team or department.

Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required.
  • Alternatively, candidates with extensive experience in surgical technology may be considered based on qualifications.

Licensure and Certification:

Relevant certifications in surgical technology are preferred.

Work Schedule:

This position offers flexible scheduling options with varying shift start and end times. Weekend and holiday work may be required, along with on-call responsibilities.

This position is part of the USWA Technical Workers SMMC (UTECH) union.
