Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Safety Strategies: Assist in creating and implementing effective safety strategies to reduce and eliminate injuries, illnesses, and other incidents in the workplace.
- Conduct Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead Safety Training and Meetings: Develop and lead safety training programs and meetings to educate employees on safety procedures and protocols.
- Investigate Incidents and Near Misses: Investigate incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop and Maintain Safety Policies and Procedures: Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, HR, and management, to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of the business.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in safety and health or equivalent combination of technical training and experience. 5+ years of experience in safety and health in the construction industry is preferred.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations, as well as other state and federal safety regulations. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think independently and make sound judgments.
- Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver's license, good driving record required. CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred. OSHA 30-Hour and 10-Hour Construction Trainer certification preferred. CHST/ASP/CSP designations.
