Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Project Manager to join our Seattle or Bothell, WA office. As a Project Manager at NV5, you will independently manage geotechnical projects, including field exploration, lab services, engineering analyses, and report preparation.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and deliver proposals and reports on time to meet client commitments.
  • Provide consultation and oversee construction-phase observations and inspections.
  • Develop scopes of geotechnical investigations and prepare proposals.
  • Understand client objectives, code requirements, and industry standards.
  • Conduct and manage geotechnical field investigations, coordinating with subcontractors as needed.
  • Perform environmental sampling as required.
  • Prepare work plans, interpret data, and generate geotechnical engineering reports.
  • Conduct geotechnical studies, evaluations, modeling, and assessments.
  • Coordinate geotechnical and construction materials lab test data.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and professional judgment to implement complex solutions.
  • Perform construction materials testing, including nuclear gauge testing, if necessary.
  • Maintain and cultivate client relationships, identifying new project opportunities.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring technical excellence, budget adherence, and timely delivery.
  • Travel as needed to collaborate with other NV5 office locations.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or with geotechnical emphasis, preferred.
  • At least 8 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Oregon and/or Washington PE license (or ability to become registered in Oregon and/or Washington within 3 months of hire).
  • Demonstrated technical capabilities and working knowledge of basic geotechnical software (LPILE, FB-DEEP, SPW911, SETTL3D, SLOPE/W etc). Geotechnical numerical modeling skills a definite plus.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-discipline team, think creatively and problem solve.
  • Must have valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, organizational, teamwork, and client management skills.
