POSITION SUMMARY

The Bartender is responsible for fulfilling the service needs of club members and guests in the bar area, which includes both food and beverage service. The role also involves maintaining the cleanliness and stock of the bar.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Complete Responsible Alcohol and Tobacco Service training and comply with all related policies.
  2. Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons, ensuring proper measurements and pours.
  3. Verify customer identification to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements.
  4. Accurately record drink orders and input them into the register system promptly.
  5. Process guest payments, including credit card transactions and providing change when necessary.
  6. Take and record food orders, delivering them to bar patrons efficiently.
  7. Maintain the bar area’s cleanliness and organization, arranging bottles and glassware attractively for efficient service.
  8. Wash glasses, utensils, and bar equipment in accordance with company and health department standards.
  9. Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks and appetizers for guests.
  10. Communicate low stock levels to the food and beverage manager as needed.
  11. Follow closing procedures and other assigned duties as directed by management.
  12. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management.
  13. Adhere to company procedures to minimize risks associated with excessive drinking.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to the club's success by providing excellent service and fostering positive interactions with staff and guests.
  15. Complete additional tasks as assigned by club or company management.
  16. Consistent and punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are necessary for this position:

  1. Ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Strong verbal communication skills.
  3. Competence in measuring liquids accurately.
  4. Basic math skills for handling cash and change.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Must be at least 21 years old.
  2. A high school diploma or GED is required.
  3. Previous experience in bartending or food service is preferred.
  4. Completion of Responsible Alcohol and Tobacco training or certification is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Essential physical requirements include:

  • Visual and auditory abilities to read documents, operate a computer, and communicate effectively.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, squatting, and kneeling.
  • Manual dexterity for using phones, typing, and writing.
  • Ability to lift items weighing over 25 pounds.
