About the Job

Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Sales Representative to join our team. As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for generating revenue by quoting, soliciting, and obtaining orders for our electrical products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent our electrical product lines by providing consultative and technical information to our partners and end-user clients.
  • Meet frequently with existing and potential customers to promote growth of product sales for various applications throughout assigned territory.
  • Quote products and services to current and potential commercial customers.
  • Provide training for partners performing indirect sales and end-user clients in assigned territory.
  • Promote products to our customers by product knowledge and performing selling activities.
  • Provide take-offs and project proposals to our customers to meet their project requirements.
  • Identify and develop new strategies, which support new and/or existing sales opportunities.
  • Work to build and coordinate relationships with supplier representatives and all customer purchasing contacts.
  • Meet and/or exceed mutually agreed-upon sales goals and objectives.
  • Achieve target profit margins and new account goals as established by management.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer-related programs.
  • Prior experience with understanding CAD programs or architectural design software is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Commercial knowledge of electrical components and their general applications.
  • Sufficient mathematical skills to be able to understand, process, and create quotes of products, while achieving sales and margin targets established by management.
  • The ability to work effectively in a small team environment with limited supervision.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with a can-do attitude.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

  • College degree preferred, but not required.
  • 2-4 years of related inside and/or outside commercial sales experience.
  • Experience in electrical distribution preferred but not required.
  • Electrical or Mechanical engineering background is a plus.
  • Experience with architectural drawings and blueprints are preferred.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary Range $60,000 to $75,000 annually dependent on skills and sales experience.
  • Generous Sales Commissions on a quarterly basis.
