Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team in San Leandro, California. As a key member of our Behavioral Health department, you will provide high-quality mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services to adult and child members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Collaborate with treating physicians, psychiatric, and allied health professionals to plan and direct each individual member's treatment program.
  • Provide Outpatient Psychotherapy: Offer individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions to members, promoting healthy coping mechanisms and improving mental well-being.
  • Assess and Diagnose Mental Health Conditions: Utilize your expertise to accurately diagnose and treat a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders.
  • Conduct Intake Summaries and Case Management: Prepare comprehensive intake summaries, treatment plans, and case summaries, maintaining accurate and confidential records in accordance with state and NCQA regulations.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for members.
  • Supervise and Train Staff: Provide guidance and oversight to post-graduate fellows, associate clinical social workers, and other mental health professionals, promoting professional growth and development.
Requirements:
  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) with the required endorsements.
  • Experience: Previous experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions, preferably in an outpatient or inpatient setting.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of DSM-V, and proficiency in individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-Licensure Experience: Previous experience as a mental health professional in a psychiatric treatment team setting, preferably under licensed supervision.
  • Specialized Training: Training in crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, and behavioral medicine.
