Job Title: Graduation Candidate Advocate

Acceleration Academies is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Graduation Candidate Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students who have disengaged from traditional education settings.

Job Summary

The Graduation Candidate Advocate will work closely with students, families, and staff to identify and address non-academic barriers to success. You will provide personalized support, guidance, and advocacy to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with new student registration and enrollment process
  • Provide support for student orientation and onboarding
  • Serve as a case manager for a cohort of students to monitor and report regular attendance
  • Implement the Acceleration Academy Retention Protocol daily via outreach communications
  • Use technology tools to assist in daily monitoring and maintenance of student attendance and retention records
  • Provide one-on-one academic support and intervention to support student learning and facilitate the work of our center professionals
  • Work closely with the student's support team to monitor the learning pathway, behavior, and transition plans to improve student achievement
  • Support academic development through participation in professional development
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Associate degree required)
  • At least 1-3 years of relevant case management, paraprofessional, or other experience within an education setting
  • Background check: Demonstration of a clear state and federal criminal history
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (Spanish a plus)
  • Experience in a non-traditional school setting, education-related field, or with at-risk youth
  • Demonstrates a commitment and passion for supporting students who have disengaged from traditional education settings
  • Strong understanding of and comfort with the use of technology in an educational setting
