Job Summary
In Baylor Scott & White Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in cardiology. As a licensed, certified non-physician healthcare provider, you will actively render direct patient care and possess delegated prescriptive authority. You will be credentialed and privileged, with your service billed as an independent billing provider, recognized by Medicare and Medicaid within our healthcare systems, and in accordance with the appropriate board.

The successful candidate will provide medical care based upon the scope of practice as delineated by the supervising physician. This role involves working in a specialty clinic, potentially specializing in Palliative Care, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Urology, Nephrology, Neurology, Hematology, Oncology, Allergy and Immunology, Rheumatology or other medical specialty.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the physical and mental condition of patients by performing comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
  • Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.
  • Prescribe, recommend, and/or employ medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures, or perform indicated procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policies with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost.
  • Formulate and implement comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines, and in partnership with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when appropriate.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management of the health illness/condition, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.

Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited program
  • Less than 1 year of experience
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Compensation:
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of approximately $115,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a comprehensive compensation package, you will also enjoy immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) savings plan with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5%, tuition reimbursement, and PTO accrual beginning Day 1.
