Senior Engineering Program Manager for Machine Learning and AI

Job Description

Apple is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Program Manager to lead the development of our next-generation Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the evaluation and validation of ML models, as well as coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment of AI applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead high-profile Foundation Model programs, establishing goals and reporting statuses to executives
  • Drive consensus across multiple groups, influencing teams to drive conference on the plan of execution
  • Create and manage project schedules with clear dependencies and systematic methodology
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, closing gaps with the ability to switch gears on projects in an agile manner
  • Keep teams on critical path, minimizing distractions and providing clear, timely communication
  • Ensure alignments across all stakeholder teams, promoting regular communications on common source of truth
  • Plan yearly and quarterly budgets for data acquisition, maintaining awareness of Privacy and Legal aspects of data management
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, particularly in data acquisition of ML technologies
  • Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and technologies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated skill in negotiating and distilling sophisticated technical requirements from multiple partners
  • Experience leading cross-functional security and privacy initiatives, collaborating with Legal, Privacy Engineering, Security, and other teams
  • Excellent project management skills, including project structuring and managing multiple work streams interdependently
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across the organization
  • Ability to independently draft and present deliverables, recommendations, and communication strategies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior PM or engineering experience in search, speech recognition, natural language understanding, data pipelines
  • Experience with international locales
Education & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in EE/CS/CE or equivalent

Additional Requirements

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
