Job Overview

Summit Employment Professionals is currently seeking dedicated Operators for a Metal Recycling facility. The position offers two shifts to accommodate various schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in training sessions related to the machinery and equipment used
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as required
  • Assist in loading and unloading materials, ensuring efficient operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment
  • Operate production machinery following established protocols and safety guidelines

  • Cross-train on various machines to enhance versatility
  • Utilize rebar fabrication equipment, including shears, benders, cranes, forklifts, threaders, and welders


Qualifications

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Willingness to undergo cross-training as necessary
  • Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and company safety regulations
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and commitment to safe working practices
  • Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment, with attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of operating fabrication machinery safely and independently
  • Availability for overtime as required by business needs
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work outdoors when necessary
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and service manuals
  • Familiarity with standard concepts and practices in the industrial sector
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this role
  • Preferred experience of at least 1 year with heavy industrial equipment
  • Willingness to work overtime, including unplanned emergency situations
  • Demonstrated punctuality and strong work ethic
  • Ability to stand for extended periods

Educational Background

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is preferred
