With a proud legacy of caring for the people and families that call Metro Detroit home, the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) is seeking an experienced Nurse to join our team as a Registered Nurse in the Direct Observation Unit. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and be part of a collaborative medical team that prioritizes patient care and satisfaction.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients on the 5 West unit, which specializes in heart monitoring, observation, general medical/surgical, oncology/chemo, medical psychiatry, or palliative/hospice care. As a member of the Patient Care Services Team, you will work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish and maintain collaborative relationships, delegate patient care activities, assess patient progress, and prepare patients for discharge.

Key Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers
• Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care
• Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members
• Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge
• Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision-making activities

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
1. Graduation from a school of nursing
2. BSN preferred
3. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan
4. American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification

Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, and a 401(k) plan.
