Aquatic Education Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Aquatic Education Specialist to join our team at Disability Solutions. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a vital role in supporting the mission of the YMCA by teaching group classes in a safe and engaging environment that promotes member wellness and community development.

Responsibilities
  1. BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS: Develop strong relationships with members, participants, volunteers, and guests while exemplifying the Y's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  2. SUMMER SAFETY: Maintain safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area, and respond to emergency procedures and situations immediately.
  3. EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: Perform equipment checks and ensure appropriate equipment is available for classes and activities.
  4. STAFF DEVELOPMENT: Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and enhance your skills as an instructor.
  5. ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of our pool programs.

Requirements
  1. MINIMUM AGE OF 18
  2. CERTIFICATIONS: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid
  3. YMCA CERTIFIED SWIM INSTRUCTOR/TRAINER
  4. ABILITY TO MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION-LEVEL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL READINESS
