Leading the Platform Team
As an Engineering Director on the Platform team, you will spearhead the development of an available, scalable, and reliable platform that underpins our business. Your responsibilities will include delivering products and features, collaborating with engineers and customers to ensure exceptional products, and working with engineering and product leadership to shape a long-term roadmap.
Your Impact
- Hire and develop top engineering talent to build a world-class team
- Provide guidance and feedback to support engineers in their career growth and develop future engineering leaders
- Establish high technical standards through processes (architecture reviews, testing) and culture (engineering excellence)
- Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to drive strategic decisions
- Coordinate execution and facilitate cross-functional collaboration to unblock critical projects
Requirements
- Proven track record in hiring and developing talent, especially leadership
- Expertise in creating efficient processes that boost velocity and quality
- Experience managing teams that build and operate high-volume distributed systems in a SaaS environment
- 15+ years of industry experience in building and supporting large-scale distributed systems
- 5+ years of experience with distributed systems and building services on top of containers
- Experience scaling engineering teams from 5 to 30+
- Strong team player with ability to collaborate across departments (PM, Sales, CS)
- BS or higher in Computer Science, or a related field
