Job Overview

TIG/MIG Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a skilled individual to apply precise welding techniques to fulfill project requirements. This role involves inspecting and rectifying welds to facilitate the production and assembly of exhaust components. As a vital team member, you will also engage in various tasks within the production cell.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manually lift or utilize a hoist to secure workpieces in fixtures or load automatic feeding devices.
  • Initiate machine operations, monitor processes, and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Execute MIG welding on product components, either manually or via machine.
  • Conduct inspections and measurements of machined parts to confirm compliance with specifications.
  • Adjust machine controls and guides as necessary.
  • Replace worn machine components, including cutting tools and brushes.
  • Maintain coolant levels in machine reservoirs and manage coolant flow.
  • File, sand, or shape machined parts as required.
  • Ensure cleanliness of machined components.
  • Attend to machinery and equipment beyond standard machine tools.
  • Document part flow accurately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Must successfully complete a MIG welding assessment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to read and adhere to manuals and standardized work instructions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and maintain a satisfactory attendance record.
  • Quality-focused individual with the ability to work independently.
  • Adaptability to frequent changes and unexpected challenges.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Regularly standing for extended periods and utilizing hand dexterity to handle materials.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Exposure to extreme heat, fumes, and noise.
Work Environment

Employees may encounter:

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Weld dust and other industrial materials, with appropriate personal protective equipment provided.
  • Potential skin exposure to various industrial fluids and chemicals.

Note: Employees are required to provide their own welding helmet and wear steel-toed footwear.
