About the Company & Opportunity:

Creative Financial Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Washington, DC.

Company Overview:

Our client is a trusted leader in the construction industry, serving various industries including public, private, and commercial institutions throughout the DMV region.

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for payroll processing, billing, and accounts payable, as well as completing ad hoc tasks and projects as requested.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for 50 union employees, including entering time and assisting the Controller with post-net processing.
  • Manage billing for construction contracts, including monthly and biweekly invoices.
  • Handle accounts payable, including coding and entering invoices into the accounting system.
  • Complete ad hoc tasks and projects as requested by the Controller.

Requirements:

  • 2-3+ years of accounting experience required.
  • Basic Excel skills, including creating spreadsheets and working with existing ones.
  • Knowledge of GL and how AP affects the GL.
  • Payroll experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Construction experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Sage 100 experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Degree is a plus, but not required.
