Job Overview: As a key member of the interdisciplinary patient care team, you will deliver nutritional services and education tailored to the needs of our pediatric patients, aligning with the medical center's mission and values.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in pediatric nutrition, whether in inpatient or outpatient settings, is preferred but not mandatory.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Medical Dietetics, or a related field.
- Certification: Must hold current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and be licensed as a dietitian in Georgia. If the dietitian does not possess RD and/or LD credentials, these must be obtained within three months of hire.
Essential Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct nutritional assessments using age-appropriate standards.
- Recommend suitable medical nutritional therapy for assigned patients, monitor their responses, and adjust as necessary.
- Educate patients and families about nutritional therapy, ensuring that information is age-appropriate and comprehensible.
- Engage with groups regarding pediatric nutritional therapy and community nutrition as needed.
- Adhere to departmental standards for documenting all work-related activities.
- Collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Guide and assess dietetic interns/students.
- Maintain ongoing professional development responsibilities.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as required, including participation in departmental committees and annual competencies.
