Veterinary Technician Manager

About the Role

As a Veterinary Technician Manager, you will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of care provided to pets. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of activities, from direct patient care to administrative duties that support the veterinary team.

Key Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Licensure as a Veterinary Technician is highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership abilities and team management experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to manage high-pressure situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with veterinary software and medical record management.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of veterinary practices, regulations, and technologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians in delivering high-quality veterinary care and advocate for pet health.
  • Support the medical team in optimizing workflow and ensuring efficient patient management.
  • Participate in surgical procedures in accordance with state regulations for credentialed technicians.
  • Engage with clients regarding their pets' health and provide information on available services and treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records with the assistance of practice management systems.
  • Gather health histories and pertinent information from clients while ensuring proper documentation.
  • Utilize safe restraint methods and uphold cleanliness and organization in treatment areas and labs.
  • Oversee staff scheduling and manage leave requests to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Medical Director to create and implement training programs for staff.
  • Address staff performance issues and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to foster communication and collaboration.
  • Provide mentorship and support to team members.
  • Implement quality control measures and best practices within the hospital.
