About the Role

The Respiratory Therapist Specialist plays a vital part in providing comprehensive care for patients suffering from conditions related to the respiratory system. They work closely with doctors and nursing staff to ensure effective treatments and positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory conditions.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and response to treatments.
  • Manage ventilators and other life-support systems.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory health and treatment plans.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, including pulmonary function tests.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records and documentation.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and cleanliness of respiratory equipment.
  • Participate in emergency response for respiratory failures.
  • Provide guidance on smoking cessation and lung health improvement.
  • Assess and calibrate respiratory devices and equipment.
  • Train new staff and students in respiratory procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy or related field.
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) status.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy.
  • Knowledge of respiratory disorders and treatments.
  • Familiarity with healthcare protocols and standards.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in high-stress environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in the use of medical software and respiratory equipment.
  • Commitment to continuous education and professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
