Job Description

As a Residential Program Manager at Transitional Center Inc., you will oversee the daily operations of our 48-bed, residential facility, providing a safe and structured environment for young men aged 12-19. Your goal will be to build self-esteem, teach individual accountability, and promote positive behavior interactions, interventions, and supports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of administrative employees, ensuring the overall direction, coordination, and maintenance of service delivery.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees, planning, budgeting, assigning, and directing work.
  • Appraise performance, reward, and discipline employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure staff accountability to the Chief of Operations (COO).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a human services field.
  • Master's Degree Preferred.
  • 2 years of verifiable successful experience working as a supervisor or director in a therapeutic residential facility.
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (Train the Trainer) Certificate Preferred.

Skills and Competency Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of Illinois DCFS licensing and program requirements and rules.
  • Demonstrated competency with skills and abilities to work successfully with the challenging behaviors of supported individuals.
  • Demonstrated capacity to be an appropriate role model, including exhibiting mature behavior and making appropriate decisions.
  • Must demonstrate a working knowledge of Positive Behavior Support and values that align with the organization.
  • Be able to speak, read, and write the English language at a level of proficiency to satisfactorily carry out the essential job duties and functions included in this job description.
  • The ability to work with various people having various backgrounds and educational levels.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must satisfactorily complete: DCFS Criminal background check, FBI background check, drug screening, sex offender registry check, copy of education transcripts and licensure.
  • 3 professional references.
  • Technology competence includes, but is not limited to: Voicemail, Word software, Basic computer functions, Printing, texting, scanning.

TCI Background Requirements:

  • DCFS Criminal Background Check.
  • FBI Background Check.
  • Drug Screening.
  • Sex Offender Registry Check.
  • Verification of CPI Trainer Training.

Required Technology Competency:

Voicemail, Computer, printer, texting, Copier, Smart Board, IPAD, Fax, Quick Books, projector, Microsoft word, assessment software, excel and all TCI software.

Position Summary:

This is a supervisory position responsible for managing a team of administrative employees, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring staff accountability to the Chief of Operations (COO).
