Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team in Franklin County. The successful candidate will provide consulting services through evaluation, analysis, and documentation, primarily responsible for evaluating business needs and requirements and developing various output work products from opportunity assessment to use case testing documents.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development of project delivery assets, processes, and procedures for the business analyst.
  • Work with team members to continuously improve assets, processes, and procedures for project delivery.
  • Embrace defined project delivery methodology through adoption and usage of templates and processes.
  • Defined by the organization to complete daily tasks.
  • Consult with customers to gather and document project business needs using interview and questioning techniques as well as extensive writing and editing strategies to fully define requirements.
  • Develop the product and software requirements with an understanding of the underlying project assumptions, including customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with department members to understand the proposed development requirements and functional implications.
  • Assist other team members with developing software requirements.
  • Verify software requirements written by team members are logical, feasible, cohesive, and within scope of the product requirements.
  • Facilitate and participate in team reviews of software designs to ensure software requirements (and customer expectations) are fulfilled.
  • Drive the approval process for required project documentation (e.g., software requirements, use case tests, etc.), as assigned.
  • Serve as the main customer contact for all functional matters related to the project to which he/she is assigned.
  • Develop team awareness of issues affecting projects.
  • Work with other AOC staff to maintain and update product/project materials.
  • Serve an instrumental role in designing and testing work product(s).
  • Develop use cases and use case briefs.
  • Develop GUI designs.
  • Execute use cases during formal acceptance testing.
  • Conduct internal and external training, as needed.
  • Where necessary, manage and/or provide guidance to other team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in education, communications, or business.
  • 5 years of business consulting experience.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Experience working with 'elected' officials.
  • Direct, recent experience with business process re-engineering/assessment, consulting services, training.
  • Strong familiarity with project delivery methodology and accompanying tools.
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge of the Microsoft product suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, a plus.
  • Experience in meeting facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including instructional, facilitation, and presentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on coaching/motivational skills, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.
  • Advanced time management skills.
  • Advanced understanding of service delivery and project life cycles.
  • Advanced project planning skills.
  • Advanced curriculum development skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Classroom training experience and/or extensive public speaking experience.

Working Conditions
  • Occasional travel between training locations may be required.

Salary and Benefits
