We are seeking a highly skilled Tradesperson Class 2 to join our Material Control team at SubCom. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient management of inventory, including the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.
Key Responsibilities- **Inventory Management**: Follow established inventory practices, including First-In-First-Out (FIFO), lot/serial control, and National Catalog Material (NCM) management.
- **Material Issuing**: Successfully learn and perform material issuing procedures and documentation requirements.
- **Material Handling**: Accurately store, count, weigh, and inspect materials for damage, and handle hazardous waste appropriately.
- **Equipment Operation**: Safely operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts and scissor lifts, to maneuver, ship, and receive materials.
- **Documentation**: Maintain timely and accurate documentation pertaining to material handling, including inventory records and shipping/receiving documents.
- **Process Improvement**: Promote job and process improvement initiatives, including 5S and other improvement programs.
- **Teamwork**: Demonstrate a positive communication style and work effectively as part of a team.
- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalency required.
- **Experience**: Two or more years of related experience and/or training preferred.
- **Skills**: Basic computer skills, including internet, MS Office (especially Excel and Outlook), ERP software, and document control software. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
- **Certifications**: Valid driver's license (Class D; operator) strongly preferred.
