Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Facility Manager of the MDU Community Bowl.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage for this position is $16. Comprehensive employee benefits are available.

Job Responsibilities
Bismarck State College seeks a motivated individual to undertake part-time custodial responsibilities at the MDU Community Bowl. The duties include:
  • Cleaning, sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping various surfaces including floors, stairways, and halls.
  • Washing windows, walls, and woodwork.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in lavatories and restrooms, including sanitizing and polishing fixtures.
  • Moving furniture, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
  • Dusting and cleaning furniture, exhibit cases, and fixtures; vacuuming and shampooing carpets.
  • Clearing and maintaining outdoor areas, including snow removal from sidewalks and entryways.
  • Collecting and disposing of waste and recycling materials.
  • Performing minor maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment.
  • Working during weekends and evenings as required.
  • Contributing innovative ideas to enhance processes and functions at the Community Bowl.
  • Assisting in the coordination and supervision of events and activities.
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands for this role include:
  • Constantly standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or lifting up to 50 pounds.

Occasional Requirements
  • Sitting, tasting, or smelling, or lifting weights between 75 to over 100 pounds.

Work Environment
This position may involve lifting heavy objects and exposure to potential hazards. Adherence to safety protocols when handling chemicals and equipment is essential.

Qualifications
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, or have one year of custodial experience. The ability to perform general cleaning tasks and follow instructions independently is required. A valid driver's license is also necessary.
