Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, patient-focused, and detail-oriented Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at Optum Primary Care Midvale Clinic. The successful candidate will work cooperatively with the care team to support the organization's vision and mission, deliver excellent customer service, and adhere to Lean processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Centralized scheduling, making appointments, and outreach to patients
  • Use call processing and other applicable functionality in the EHR to take messages and communicate with clinicians
  • Greet patients and conduct check-in processes
  • Monitor daily reminder call logs to reschedule appointments as needed
  • Close payment batch(es) at the end of each shift, assemble and balance batch(es) according to cash control procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of current OSHA and Optum policies
  • Assist coworkers as needed to assure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher) OR 2+ years of customer service experience
  • CPR certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • 3+ months of customer service experience
  • Basic level of computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
  • Office Administrative / Receptionist / Clerical experience in a medical environment
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
  • Ability to multi-task
