About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our comprehensive, multidisciplinary practice at St. Joseph Humboldt County's Cancer Care Clinic. In this generalist role, you will focus on the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of patients with cancer, working collaboratively with a care team consisting of oncologists, RNs, patient navigators, social workers, nutritionists, integrative medicine specialists, palliative care professionals, clinical pharmacists, and other support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with various stages of cancer, from diagnosis to recovery.
  • Collaborate with the oncology team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, perform diagnostic procedures, and interpret results to inform treatment decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and other quality improvement initiatives to advance cancer care.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of California.
  • Experience in oncology or hematology-oncology, with a strong foundation in cancer diagnosis, treatment, and management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex medical information and make informed decisions.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care, with a focus on compassion, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
