Position Title: Mechanical Utilities Technician

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is in search of a skilled individual to become part of our Mechanical Utilities Department as a Mechanical Utilities Technician. In this role, you will oversee the functionality and upkeep of diverse mechanical systems that support our research operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Activate and deactivate mechanical utility systems as required
  • Supervise and modify operational systems to ensure efficiency
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance tasks
  • Diagnose and rectify issues in malfunctioning systems
  • Fabricate, calibrate, and install necessary equipment
  • Provide assistance with mechanical adjustments and repairs when necessary
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment performance
  • Uphold safety regulations and compliance

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical system maintenance
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and hydraulics
  • Welding skills are advantageous
  • Valid driver's license in California

Work Environment:

  • This role necessitates onsite engagement

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $ Step 1) - $ Step 10) per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
